Early Years Foundation Stage

All children under five are entitled to free school milk and the government provides this to schools, without the need for you to register. Once your child is five their entitlement to free school milk stops, however you may continue to buy school milk for your child whilst they are in our reception class by registering at

Children will be encouraged to drink milk but we do not keep a daily record of who has drunk their milk.

Within the Nursery and Reception units we have a ‘self-service Café’ for the children to access throughout the day. This area has ample cups, a fridge for the milk, bowls of fruit and jugs of water for the children to help themselves to. Children do not need their own water bottle nor do they need to bring additional snacks to school.

In the Early Years we do allow families to send in treats to share for children’s birthday’s or festival celebrations but these must be individually wrapped and ready to hand out.  If you send in any homemade treats, please also send in a list of all the ingredients used so that we can ascertain if we are able to share them with all the children.  We will not be able to hand out any treats if we do not know what ingredients have been used or any that are not individually wrapped.  Please remember that we are a NUT FREE school.

If your child does have any food allergies, the EYFS staff will work with families to find ways to provide alternative treats for children with these needs so that no child misses out on these experiences.
