Overdue Library Book Procedures
Children visit the school library every week. If they do not return the book after 4 weeks the following procedures will apply:
Class teachers will remind the child and speak to the parent at the end of the day. If parents do not collect, a reminder will be written in the child’s communication book.
If the book is not returned, or a replacement book provided, in the following week, a reminder slip will be given to the class teacher to hand out to parents.
If the book is not returned, or a replacement book provided, in the following week, a £5 charge will be added to the child’s ParentMail account (please note the £5 is a flat fee however many of the books in our library are of greater value).
If the book is not returned or the replacement fee paid within the following two weeks the family will be contacted by the headteacher.
*Please note parents are encouraged to contact the school at the earliest point in this process if there is a problem or they feel there has been an error.
