The Hillcross Children's Fund
Hillcross is renowned for the huge range of enrichment opportunities we offer to our children. However, school budgets are decreasing in real terms year-on-year and the cost of living is affecting schools too. We are finding it harder and harder to maintain the level of school experience that our children and families have come to expect. Therefore, we are more grateful than ever for the contributions and donations our families make to the school. We think as creatively as we can to increase alternative forms of income to ensure we can maintain the excellent quality of education and exciting range of experiences we currently offer our children.
We ask families to make a monthly donation of £10 per child (£120) per year, or you can choose an amount that is more affordable for you, to The Hillcross Children's Fund. This is used to pay for author visits, theatre performances, subscriptions to magazines for the library, resources for lunchtime and much, much more.
We are very grateful to the many people (not just parents!) in our community who give generously to the Hillcross Children's Fund - please also share the link with friends and relatives who may also like to make a regular or a one-off payment.
Ways in which you donate:
- Via Standing Order (click the tab on the right)
- Via your MCAS Account (parents only)

- By scanning the QR code
- Cash/cheque (to be handed in to the school office)
- Vouchers from Charities Trusts
The Hillcross Children's Fund is a registered charity, and we are therefore able to claim Gift Aid back from the Inland Revenue on eligible donations: if you are a taxpayer and complete a Gift Aid declaration (click the tab on the right), every pound donated by you is worth £1.25 to the school, making your donation go even further!
How do we use the fund?
We use the fund to purchase a range of resources, such as newspapers and magazines for the library and lunchtime play equipment; to pay for whole school experiences such as the Christmas Pantomime and Anti-bullying workshops; and to contribute towards specific projects such as our amazing 'subject specific learning spaces'. These include a Food Tech Room, a Music Room, an Art Studio, a Woodland Lodge and an Innovation Lab. The next room to be developed is a Science Laboratory (no Bunsen burners though - sorry!). Once set up, we use the fund to ensure these rooms continue to be fully equipped with everything the children and staff need to boost their learning experiences in each area of learning even further.
The names of contributing families and the amounts of individual contributions are kept completely confidential. Whether a parent contributes or not will in no way affect the way any child is treated at our school.
Many thanks for your support - by making a contribution you can make a real difference to our school.
