Punctuality
It is of paramount importance that all children arrive on time for school each day in order for them to make the best possible progress in terms of learning and all round development. Pupils who arrive late miss the teacher's instruction to the class on the morning's work, miss messages or information relating to the whole class, and have less time to complete their work. Children who are consistently late for school are disrupting not only their own education, but also that of other children. Where persistent lateness gives cause for concern, you will be invited to a meeting to resolve the issues. If there is no improvement following this meeting, further action will be taken, which may include referral to external agencies.
You may approach the school at any time for support and advice if you are having difficulty getting your child to school on time or maintaining regular attendance.
School officially begins at 8.30am (although we operate a 'rolling’ start from 8.30am to 8.45am for those families who have to drop children off at different points across the school). The register for the first session will be taken at 8.45am.
To ensure security, the doors to the school and the main gates will close promptly. Any child who arrives after 8.45am must enter the school by the main gate at the Ashridge Way entrance and report to the school office where parents will sign them in.
Please do not send your child into school through an open door or ask staff/children to open doors for you as they may not then be properly registered. It is vital all children are registered in the case of an emergency, such as a fire.
