Summer Term 2
Summer 2 Week 4
In PE, using our outdoor space, we have been completing OAA (Outdoor and Adventurous Activities) by working as a team to read a map and navigate the school grounds. As writers, we have considered our language choices and formality to support our writing as king or queen.
Summer 2 Week 3
As mathematicians, we have explored the horizontal and vertical relationship of equivalent fractions. In Art, we applied our past knowledge from Year 3 and used oil pastels to create a dragon eye. Inspiring to be global citizens, we designed our own sustainable castle by considering ways of producing renewable energy.
Summer 2 Week 2
As part of our science, maths and DT curriculum, we had an exciting, unique day visiting the headquarters of Williams Racing. During the action-packed day, we visited the Esports lounge to drive around some infamous tracks, visited the museum and asked questions about Formula 1 cars, including British driver George Russell's car, and had the opportunity to create our own nose cones in a group.
Summer 2 Week 1
To launch our Whole School Topic 'A Knight to Remember', we dressed up as medieval knights, princesses and kings and had a banquet in the Hillcross Castle. Linking with our British Values, we discussed if the King was the most important as a P4C sessions in the Woodland Lodge. As mathematicians, we have explored fractions using cuisenaire rods to find fractions of amounts.
