Week 1 & Week 2

What an amazing start to Year 5! The children have settled in beautifully, making new friends, enjoying their new environments and learning to work in collaboration with their new teams. This week, the children enjoyed the challenge of creating the tallest, yet most stable tower using Lego; participating in a treasure hunt around the classroom to reveal a hidden message and playing ‘getting to know you’ bingo, making connections with new friends. Delving into our first topic of Year 5: ‘We’re the Kids in America’, we identified and located the different countries and oceans within and around the continent of North America. As artists, we have explored the life and works of Vincent van Gough and in PE, have been building upon our skills to refine our lateral pass technique in tag rugby.
