Summer 1

Week 1 

To launch our topic ‘Dig Deep!’ where we will be learning all about the Stone Age, Year 3 took park in a workshop this week to gain lots of white hat facts that we can use in our learning throughout the half term. We learnt about how they communicated, looked at a range of primary sources, learnt how they would have hunted different animals and even took part in a burial! The children had an amazing day and are so excited to learn more about the Stone Age.

Week 2 

During their PPA PE sessions with Coach Harry this half term, the children will be learning different athletic skills which will help them to complete in this year’s sports day! During maths, some of the children have been learning about repeated addition to help them know and understand their multiplication facts using manipulatives to help them. 

Week 3 

During our PE lessons this half term, we have been developing our learning all about gymnastics from earlier in the year. This half term we are working on rolls, travelling and balances. This week, we worked together to develop sequences using all the skills we have learnt in our lessons this half term.

Week 4 

We have had a busy week this week in Year 3! As historians, we have been learning all about Stonehenge and its significance. We went outside and built Stonehenge with blocks and wrote white hats facts that we have learnt all around it. In PSHE, we have learnt how to keep ourselves and others safe. We learnt what to do if we got stung or bitten and role-played the key steps. This week, ou Innovation Lab opened! We were very lucky to get to go and visit the room to see how we will be using it to help with our learning in different subjects!
