Summer 2

Coming to the end of our whole school topic, this week we had a DT focus where we completed our light box designs and then went into the innovation lab to make them. We considered what shield which would represent us and then put into a light box.

This week we continued to learn about fractions and as part of our whole school topic, we refined our battle music where the brave knights charged on their horses and fought gallantly with swords and axes.

This week we explored the water cycle and answered the question: 'Would we have to keep refilling our moat?' It was fun becoming human water droplets and creating our own water-cycle. We then further explored castles around the world and their surrounding land uses. We have also been working with improper fractions and mixed numbers. Here you can see us placing mixed numbers onto a number line.

This week saw the lunch of our whole school topic: 'A Knight To Remember'.

We had so much fun dressing up as Lords and Ladies and have so far explored castles. What they are, why they were built and thought about the surrounding land use. In music, we explored the theme of 'battle music' using 'The Rumble' from 'Westside Story.'  We have also been exploring mixed numbers in maths, how they are composed and where we would place them onto a number line.
